WILLINGTON, CT — Here's a look at how Willington residents voted in the 2024 election.

The results turned in by municipalities to the secretary of the state's office were still being classified as "unofficial" Wednesday afternoon.

At the top of the ballot, residents were asked to to vote on a referendum question that reads:

  • "Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?"

As of Wednesday, with some towns still not reporting the statewide yes votes totaled 697,123 and the no votes were 537,985.

Donald Trump has been declared the winner.

Local votes:

  • Democratic: Kamala Harris and Tim Walz - 1,477
  • Republican: Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance - 1,612
  • Green Party: Jill Stein and Butch Ware - 29
  • Libertarian: Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat - 19
  • Petitioning Candidate: Robert Kennedy Jr. and Nicole Shanahan - 20

U.S. Senate

Christopher Murphy has won re-election.

Local votes:

  • Democratic: Christopher S. Murphy (Murphy is also endorsed by the Working Families Party) - 1,509
  • Republican: Matthew M. Corey - 1,388
  • Green Party: Justin C. Paglino - 27
  • Cheaper Gas Groceries Party: Robert Finley Hyde - 35

U.S. House

Joe Courtney has won re-election.

Local votes:

  • Democratic: Joe Courtney - 1,645
  • Republican: Mike France - 1,434

State Representative, 53rd District

Tammy Nuccio won re-election, 8,018 to 6,094.

Local votes:

  • Democratic: Ann Bonney - 1,203
  • Republican: Tammy Nuccio - 1,795

35th District State Senate

Jeff Gordon won re-election, 27,942 to 25,040.

Local votes:

  • Democratic: Merry C. Garrett - 1,351
  • Republican: Jeff Gordon - 1,676
