Stamford’s SoundWaters Super Splash Returns To Support Long Island Sound Education
The Super Splash is designed to raise awareness about environmental changes in Long Island Sound.
STAMFORD, CT — Participants are expected to run into Long Island Sound on Sunday, Feb. 1, as part of the third annual SoundWaters Super Splash, a winter fundraising event to support climate science education.
The event will be held at Cove Island Park, with check-in beginning at 10 a.m. at East Beach and the group plunge scheduled for 11 a.m. Organizers said hot cocoa and donuts will be available on the beach following the splash.
The Super Splash is designed to raise awareness about environmental changes in Long Island Sound, including warming water temperatures and shifting marine life. Proceeds will benefit SoundWaters’ climate science education programs, which provide hands-on learning experiences for students in the region, according to the organization.
