Body Found In Connecticut River Near State Park In Suffield [UPDATED]
An outpouring of police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the Windsor Locks Canal State Park shortly after 9 a.m. Friday.

SUFFIELD, CT — Police and rescue personnel responded en masse to the Windsor Locks Canal State Park trail Friday morning upon a report of a body seen in the Connecticut River.
The call was received around 8:35 a.m., but first responders were hampered by the terrain of the park, which is heavily wooded, as well as a strong current. An assisting fire official from neighboring Enfield told Patch all-terrain vehicles were being used in the search effort.
Officers confirmed the dead person was in the river, and recovery efforts were initiated. The body was brought ashore around 11 a.m., Capt. Rob Palmer said.
