Fisher, Simons, Sutton, Waterman: Recent Death Notices From Suffield

SUFFIELD, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Suffield.
Dennis Fisher, 72, beloved husband of Sharon (Graham) Fisher, passed away on March 29, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. He was born Aug. 8, 1952 in New Haven, son of the late Meyer Fisher and Shirley (Goffin) Fisher. Before retiring, he was a Corporate Trust Account Manager at State Street Bank & Trust Co.
JoAnne (Simokitis) Simons, 82, passed on March 25, 2025 after a period of failing health. She graduated from Windsor High School in 1961 and from the University of Hartford in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science in secretarial science. She was married on May 3, 1969 to Charles W. Simons, and they shared 54 years together until his passing in Aug. 2023. JoAnne loved to putter in her flower gardens and always had a lovely vase of flowers in her home or to share with family and friends.

Janet (Trotter) Sutton, 72, beloved wife for over 41 years to the late Charles G. Sutton Jr., passed away on April 6, 2025. Janet graduated from Enfield High School. She was an avid crafter, always creating something with her hands. She enjoyed knitting particularly, but did it all and had an endless supply of yarn to back it up. Janet’s happy place was the beach. She loved the ocean air and the sounds of waves crashing. She spent many summers camping on the beach at Charlestown Breachway, R.I. and at Bald Mountain Campground, Vermont.
Mark Waterman, 70, known as “Bombo” to some, and beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend to others, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, with his daughter by his side. During his heyday, he resided at the “pink apartments” where he loved to throw his atypical parties. Later on, he could often be found at the bar that his father owned called the 5A Cafe. Known for his strong work ethic, he was employed with United Airlines at Bradley International Airport for 36 years before his retirement as a senior service director.
