SUFFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

Belmont University, Nashville TN

  • Matthew Sinofsky and Gregory Gouvin, both of Suffield, were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2024 semester. Dean's List eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Lasell University, Newton MA

  • Gabriel Qua, a Lasell University student from Suffield, was named to the Dean's List for academic performance in the fall 2024 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, Lasell students must complete at least 12 credits as a full-time student and achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

St. Lawrence University, Canton NY

  • Emma Casey from Suffield has earned Liberty League All-Academic honors in recognition of excellence in the classroom. Casey is a member of the Class of 2025, majoring in psychology and performance and communication arts, and is a member of the Saints women's soccer team. Casey attended Suffield Academy. To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and enrolled full-time with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

  • A total of 356 undergraduate students at WPI completed research-driven, professional-level projects that apply science and technology to address an important societal need or issue. Known as the Interactive Qualifying Project (IQP), this project is a core part of the innovative undergraduate experience at WPI. Centered around project-based learning, this hands-on approach offers students opportunities to help develop thoughtful solutions to open-ended problems. These real-world problems affect the quality of life for people in the communities where students work, giving students a chance to make a difference in the world before they graduate. Peter Danise from Suffield,class of 2026, majoring in electrical and computer engineering, completed a project titled Agriculture Sector Adaptation and Investment in Albania. Jack Shanks from Suffield, class of 2026, majoring in mechanical engineering, completed a project titled Assessing Simple AF's Position in the Circular Economy.
