Police Search For Vehicle In Fatal Suffield Crash

Suffield police are looking for a car suspected in a wreck that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

SUFFIELD, CT — Police are asking for the public's help in finding a vehicle tied to a fatal hit-and-run crash in Suffield. Police received the call Saturday at 10:30 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian being struck at Thrall Avenue and Route 159, according to a police Facebook post.

Emergency crews initiated life-saving measures but the pedestrian died as a result of her injuries.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene. Police said they believe the involved car is a smaller white or silver SUV similar to a Jeep Cherokee with front end damage and a leaking radiator, according to a police Facebook post.

Police are investigating along with the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Team.

The road was closed during the investigation until 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
