It is time to register for fun new programs with the Suffield Parks and Recreation Department

Looking to start 2022 off right? Take some time for yourself and make fitness and fun a priority this year. The Suffield Parks and Recreation Department has a variety of enjoyable programs that will help you and your family create lasting memories while helping you make health and wellness an important part of your lifestyle. Our programs also make perfect Holiday gifts for family and friends!

2022 Fitness Lunchtime Challenge (New)

Looking for a fun class that offers great motivation to help you get fit in the New Year? This lunch time strengthening and conditioning class will focus on toning and building lean muscle. No experience necessary as Instructor will accommodate and modify to suit all of your individual needs and fitness levels. Come learn about your muscles, mechanics and improve even further on your strength and cardio. Take a break from the sedentary workday and join us. This class offers a great way to get in shape in the New Year with great motivation while having fun. We will also discuss healthy nutrition and lifestyle as a core component of this class. Winter Walkers/Runners and Snowshoers - FREE

Get in shape this winter and keep your Fitness Resolutions in 2022! Let’s enjoy the winter weather, get motivated and go on a lunchtime walk/jog or snowshoe session depending on the weather. All levels and abilities welcome. We will go over warming up, fitness walking/snowshoeing and have a fun time getting you re-energized for the rest of the day. The program will run in all weather conditions so please bring proper winter gear. Even if you can only join the program for a half hour, you are encouraged to join the group. Prizes will be awarded to the most dedicated walkers. Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement, sneakers and bring a facemask and water bottle.

Tabata Bootcamp

Get fit in 2022 with our fun, effective and very popular Tabata Bootcamp! Join a terrific group while you get in great shape while being motivated and starting the year off right by making exercise a priority. You will have a blast in this ultimate calorie burning high intensity class. Tabata is a form of HIIT (high-intensity interval training) that alternates between twenty seconds of intense bursts of work and ten seconds of rest in four-minute rounds. This class will have you burning calories even after you leave class. All fitness levels are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothes and have an exercise Mat for class. Registration closes on Wednesday, December 29 and/or earlier if enrollment reaches maximum capacity. Limited enrollment.

Powerburn Into the New Year!

Get a fantastic workout while keeping your 2022 fitness resolutions in this high intensity and fun step class. This super effective program is designed to help build lean muscle while burning tons of fat all while having a blast. You will get a total body cardio and strength workout. This class combines step, HIIT, and dumbbells for an all-around ultimate thirty-minute workout Come get your heart pumping and the calories burning with a personal trainer. Healthy Happy Hour-Mix it up at the Barre - New

Get in incredible shape in 2022 with our enjoyable Barre inspired workout. Are you looking for a great program that incorporates Yoga, Pilates and Aerobics in a super fun way? This class is for you. The Barre portion of this class incorporates specific sequencing patterns and isometric movements that target specific muscle groups. This pattern of exercise helps to improve strength, balance, flexibility and posture. The “MIX” portion of this class will add strength training and cardiovascular fitness using dumbbells and other equipment at the studio Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement, sneakers bring a facemask, water bottle and an exercise Mat. Registration closes on Tuesday, December 28 and/or earlier if enrollment reaches maximum capacity. Limited enrollment.

Energizing Winter Vinyasa Flow – (NEW Saturday morning program!)

Start the New Year right with our new energizing Vinyasa yoga flow that will kick start your Saturday morning and inspire you to move through the rest of the weekend with intention and ease from the comfort of your own home. There will be a strong focus on proper alignment and linking movement to one’s breath to ultimately promote flexibility, increase mobility, build strength, balance and relieve stress. This flow will end with a sprinkle of core work and a final relaxation that will leave you ready to take on your day. This practice is a one- hour class and has been designed for all levels-from beginners to seasoned Yogis. Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement and have a water bottle and a Yoga Mat ready for class.

Are you ready to start the year off right and learn new ways to look and feel great? Gather your friends and join us for an evening filled with fun! Sarah Kitson, owner of English Rose Beauty will lead this informative program that will cover a basic 5-step skin care routine to calm redness, smooth out wrinkles and combat breakouts depending on your skin issues following with a simple and quick fresh and dewy natural everyday makeup look. She will also demonstrate how to perfect natural fuller looking eyebrows and how to get the most out of your current makeup products. Skincare is an essential part of overall health and wellness. Make a plan for 2022 to take some time to help improve you! Please bring your own makeup bag and a mirror to class.

Total Transformation 2022 - New

Are you ready to take charge of your wellness, feel great and get and stay in shape in the New Year? Get ready for a Total Transformation in 2022! This comprehensive six week training program combines all of the necessary aspects to help improve your overall well-being in order to achieve your desired fitness and lifestyle for maximum results. You will participate in up to two fitness classes a week (30min. each) for 6 weeks that fits your schedule. You will also participate in weekly weigh ins, body fat testing/check in, will have access to a personal portal where you will have your stats, progress charts and the ability to submit food logs to keep you accountable as well as access to our fitness nutritionist. The portal will also contain food lists for the lean healthy eating program and your own personal stats throughout the program as well as 6 weeks of exercise videos. Join in on this fun high intensity class that will get your heart pumping. You will get a total cardio and strength training workout. This class is designed to help build lean muscle while burning fat. We will get in a transformative workout while combining HIIT, Step, and hand held weights making this is the ultimate thirty minute workout. Come get your heart pumping and burn some serious calories while being motivated by a personal trainer. . Beginners to Advanced are welcome! Saturday’s January 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19 from 11:00-11:30 a.m. in the Senior Center Library Room. Ultimate Fitness Challenge

Looking for a fun and effective fitness challenge class? This class is for you! Sunday workouts have never been so rewarding and effective than this motivating strength and interval training program. You will get in a complete workout, by challenging yourself in an enjoyable and encouraging environment with a variety of stations. This terrific workout will be an ultimate calorie burner and help you reach your 2022 fitness resolutions. All fitness levels are welcomed. (Sunday’s-January 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20 from 12:00-12:30 p.m. in the Senior Center Library Room) (optional consultation/weigh ins and body fat composition before class from 11:30-12:00 p.m..)
