House Fire Claims 1 Life In Suffield; Elderly Victim Identified

A structure fire has caused one death and necessitated closure of a street near the Windsor Locks border.

SUFFIELD, CT - A Tuesday morning fire at a home on Mather Street, near the Windsor Locks town line, has taken the life of an elderly woman inside the residence, and prompted police and fire officials to close the roadway.

The fire was reported at 10:26 a.m., and had fully engulfed the house upon first responders' arrival, Capt. Robert Palmer said.

On Tuesday afternoon, police identified the victim as Dolores Brown, 80.
