Skilled volunteer sharpeners needed for Suffield’s Repair Cafes
Success is creating greater need

Whether you sharpen by hand, with a grinding wheel, a belt sander or some combination, Sustainable Suffield needs your help.
When they host Repair Cafes, they’re overwhelmed with townspeople asking them to sharpen kitchen knives, scissors, gardening tools and more, according to co-chair Anna-Kristin Daub-Murphy.
She said they have two volunteer sharpeners, but need additional skilled people.

A team of 13 volunteer fixers helps keep perfectly useful tools, bikes, garments, furniture, and appliances out of the landfill, she said. Sustainable Suffield provides lunch and munchies throughout the day.
Sustainable Suffield's next Repair Cafe is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, at the
Suffield Senior Center, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
