Suffield Police Warn Residents About Attempted Vehicle Break-ins

SUFFIELD, CT — Police are cautioning residents about a recent surge in car burglaries, and have released a pair of photos taken from a Ring video showing two unidentified people attempting to break into vehicles.

In the first photo, posted on the Suffield Police Department Facebook page and shown above, the people are shown approaching cars; in the second photo, shown below, they are seen running away empty-handed after finding a vehicle locked. Police pointed out the lights of a vehicle waiting in the roadway can be seen in the upper left corner of the pictures.

A time stamp on the surveillance photos indicates the attempt was made shortly after 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

"Please remember to remove all valuables from inside your cars and lock the doors every night," police wrote. "If you happen to be out and about and see vehicles parked on the street at odd hours, please contact the Suffield Police Department. Do not confront anyone on the street or in a driveway because this is dangerous. Contact the Suffield Police Department and make us aware so we can try and locate the vehicle and the subjects involved in any attempted thefts."
