UConn Student Dies In Suffield Hit-And-Run: Reports

A University of Connecticut student has been identified as the victim of a hit-and-run crash in Suffield.

SUFFIELD, CT — A University of Connecticut student died Saturday night after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Suffield, according to The Hartford Courant. The victim was Meghan Voisine, 20, of Suffield, a junior at the university.

Police believe they have found the car that struck Voisine and may have identified the driver, The Hartford Courant reported.

The crash happened at 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Thrall Avenue and Route 159. Emergency crews initiated life-saving measures but the victim died as a result of her injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours as police investigated.

Police said previously they believed the involved car is a smaller white or silver SUV similar to a Jeep Cherokee with front end damage and a leaking radiator.

Voisine was a junior majoring in marketing. She transferred to UConn from Seton Hall University in fall 2020, according to The Middletown Press.

She was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and the Women in Business student organization.
