Making a difference in the world, The Higganum Congregational Church, in conjunction with The First Congregational Church of Haddam have reached out to IRIS (Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Service). According to an article published in HK Now, the churches are currently in the process of completing the application to become a co-sponsor to resettle a refugee family in Haddam. Resettlement tasks include securing affordable housing, collecting furniture and other household items, helping refugees access public benefits, enrolling children in school, facilitating job searches and perform other necessary tasks.   2. Get ready to get swept off your feet and into a magical world of musicals. The Haddam-Killingworth High School will present Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” on May 6 & 7,at the HK High School auditorium. (Patch)
  3. COVID is not going away. Connecticut towns reporting the highest level of alert for the coronavirus has more than doubled for the second week in a row. This is not good news! As of Thursday afternoon, 108 towns were once again in the dreaded "red" zone. That number is up 54 from last week's report. (Patch)
