HADDAM, CT — The driver killed in a fatal head-on crash Tuesday morning in Haddam has been identified by state police.

Elijah Santiago, 28, of Hamden, died in the accident.

Police said a 1997 Ford F-150 was traveling north on Saybrook Road/Route 154 in Haddam at 6:33 a.m. Tuesday.

Santiago was driving a 2012 Honda Civic south on Route 154. The car and truck crashed head on, state police said.

The driver and passenger in the Ford pickup were taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Santiago was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
