2. Staehly Farm Winery in East Haddam wins 'Best Connecticut Producer' award! According to a press release, it also won gold and several silver and bronze medal finishers. The local winery beat out others including regional and international entries. (New Haven Register)
3. At the state Democratic party convention Saturday, Gov. Ned Lamont accepted the party's nomination for governor. In his speech, he gave a nod to his opponent, Bob Stefanowski, who received the GOP nomination. Both Lamont and Stefanowski were businessmen before entering the political arena.(The Connecticut Mirror)
