Fire Destroys Haddam Home: Report

A fire ripped through a Haddam home early Wednesday morning.

HADDAM, CT — A home in Haddam was destroyed in a fire early Wednesday morning, according to FOX 61. Firefighters were called to a River Road home at 1:10 a.m. and found a fully involved blaze.

Crews extinguished the fire for about an hour and a half. A live power line melted off the house and fell into the woods, leading to a small brush fire.

Crews from Chester, Killingworth, Durham, East Haddam, and Haddam Neck also responded, and the Middletown South District provided a Rapid Intervention Team, according to FOX 61. The home was not occupied at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
