- An 85-year-old man died in a fire that happened on Plains Road in Haddam. The fire, which happen Thursday afternoon is currently under investigation in Haddam. (Eyewitness News 3)
- A press release was put out by the town of Haddam alerting residents that the town of Haddam's Annual Budget Public Hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Haddam Volunteer Firehouse, Community Hall, located at 439 Saybrook Road in Higganum. Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting. (Press Release Desk)
- Connecticut's high forest fire danger is usually during the spring season from mid-March through May. Saturday, the area was at a "high" forest fire danger level. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Forest Fire Control Office urges all who enjoy the use of Connecticut's parks, forests and open spaces, to use fires with caution and practice forest fire prevention tips especially during the spring season.
