- Flames and smoke were coming from Machimoodus State Park on Wednesday as the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) held the first prescribed controlled burn of the season. The burn removed underbrush so the natural summer grasses in certain designated areas can thrive. (Eyewitness News 3)
- The deadline for the "consideration of proposals" for the sale of the Deer Lake property has been extended by the Boy Scouts of America, from today, March 31 to May 1st. This extension will give conservationists additional time to raise funds. (Torrington Register Citizen)
