Here are the top three stories today in The Haddams-Killingworth:
- Friday turned out to be an overly busy day for the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company. They reportedly responded to seven different emergency calls including; three medical calls, two motor vehicle accidents, a smell of gas investigation and a utility pole fire. One motor vehicle accident involved a car that ended up leaking oil and fluids into Bible Rock Brook . The occupants were safely out of the vehicle when the Fire Company showed up on the scene, however, they were transported to Middlesex Hospital and several absorbent booms were put in the water in an attempt to contain and trap the fluids. - Sales tax free week begins today and will run through April 16. The 'holiday' applies only to “any article of clothing or footwear intended to be worn on or about the human body.” Clothing and footwear can be no more than $100 to qualify for the tax free 'holiday'. (Middletown Press)
- Connecticut ceased sharing COVID-19 daily cases and a daily positivity rate as of Apr. 4. Now test positivity is being calculated as a seven-day rolling average. On Thursday, Gov.
