1. Summer is just around the corner and the Haddam-Killingworth Recreation Department has a series of upcoming programs to choose from including Curious Campers Pre-School Camp, Play-Well Transportation Engineering LEGO Camp, Art RecCreationCamp, Science or Just Fun, Casablancas Modeling/Fashion Camp, Clay/Pottery Camp and more. 2. Looking to add a shaggy ball of four-legged love and affection to add to your family and have a positive impact on the world at the same time? Maybe it's the right time to adopt a pet! 3. The country has hit the million mark and that's not a good thing. As of Friday, it's been reported that over one million lives in the country have been lost to the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to this somber milestone, Connecticut, with more than 10,800 dead, lowered its flags to half-staff. According to Gov. Lamont's direction, the U.S. and state flags throughout the state will remain at half-staff until sunset on Monday, May 16. (Patch)
