  1. Today is opening day for the historic Chester-Hadlyme Ferry, which will operate this year through November 30. This is one of the state's two Connecticut River ferries. The other is the Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry, which will remain closed this weekend, due to high water levels. (Torrington Register Citizen)
