Here are the top three stories today in The Haddams-Killingworth:
- A public hearing will be held in the town of Haddam on Wednesday, May 11, at 7 p.m. at the Haddam Volunteer Firehouse. The meeting will discuss the financing, purchase, environmental remediation and sale of the Scovil property (former CTDOT Garage) including the acquisition of two adjoining properties from the Haddam Volunteer Fire Department. It will also discuss the use of the Town Green for Town (WPCA) owned septic system for the Town Community Center and Scovil property.(HK Now)
- A $500 million tax cut package is being proposed by Gov. Ned Lamont and legislative Democratic leaders as part of the state budget adjustment. The package includes a child tax credit, property tax credit and an extension of the gas tax suspension. The adjustments will have to be voted on by the state legislature.(Patch)
