  1. The Goodspeed Musicals announced Friday that it will produce the world premiere of Christmas in Connecticut – A New Musical , which will debut this holiday season at the Goodspeed Opera House. The show is a holiday-themed comedy. It will begin November 18 and run through December 30. (Patch)
  2. East Hampton Town Councilman Brandon Goff, a Republican announced he is running for the state Senate's 33rd District, which includes Chester, Clinton, Colchester, Deep River, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Lyme, Portland, Westbrook and part of Old Saybrook. Currently, Democrat Norm Needleman represents the district. Needleman also serves as the First Selectman of Essex. (East Hampton Patch)
  3. Because of required maintenance and seasonal preparations, the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry was not able to make its maiden voyage, as scheduled on April 1. When the historic ferry will be able to cross the Connecticut River is still unconfirmed. (CT Insider)
  4. Gas stations that don't pass on the state's 25-cent gas tax suspension, which kicked off Friday, could be sued. The state attorney general is warning gas station owners that they need to pass savings onto consumers. (Patch)

  • Haddam Historical Society-Thankful Arnold House Museum: "Nation's peak catch of shad was in 1897 - 50 million pounds! The Haddam Shad Museum will be open on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from April 3 to June 12. The museum is located at 212 Saybrook Road, Higganum." (Facebook)

  • The Congregational Church in Killingworth, UCC: "Easter lilies have been a long tradition in this church and can be ordered through the Flower Committee. You may download an order form and drop or mail it to the church. The price is $10 each and they are locally grown. The deadline to order is Sunday, April 10. " (Facebook)
