27 Animals, Including 20 Dogs, Seized From Old Lyme Home
Officials also shared details on how the public can help the pets recently seized from the home.
OLD LYME, CT — Shelter officials who are caring for animals seized from a local home July 28 have received several inquiries from people hoping to help.
Connecticut State Police said the animals were seized from a residence on Miami Avenue.
Old Lyme Animal Control told WTNH the 27 animals include 20 dogs, five birds and two chinchillas.

State police said Monday the case remains an “active and ongoing investigation.”
An organization, Friends of Old Lyme Animal Control, wrote on its Facebook page on July 31 to thank people for their calls and messages of concern.

“We truly appreciate so many of you asking how you can help,” the organization wrote.
It lists several items it needs for donations, including: towels, poop bags, pee pads, laundry detergent, paper towels, odor ban, and dog food specifically for sensitive skin and stomach. For the birds, they are looking for large wooden parrot toys.
