Another Burglary in Old Lyme; Arrests for Niantic

Investigation and arrest reports came from Old Lyme Police Department and Waterford Police Department. An arrest does not signify a conviction.

Thief Sees Window of Opportunity  

Old Lyme Police are investigating another reported burglary on Mile Creek Road in Old Lyme. According to police, someone entered a residence through a rear window between the hours of noon and 3:50 p.m. on August 6 while the home was unoccupied. The thief made off with jewelry and other personal items. 

This is the third time a thief has entered a home via an open window and taken jewelry in the past 10 days and the second home on Mile Creek Road to be burglarized.

July 31, 2013


Marabeth Dunn, 46, 11 King Arthur Drive, Niantic, was arrested in Waterford and charged with identity theft in the second degree.

August 1, 2013

Jessica Hannans, 25, of 10 King Arthur Drive, Niantic, was arrested in Waterford and charged with evading: Serious physical injury/physical injury or property damage, with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and with unsafe passing. 

Wayne Rawls, 49, of 25 Ocean Avenue, Niantic, was arrested in Waterford and charged with evading: Serious physical injury/physical injury or property damage, with operating a motor vehicle when registration/license is refused/suspended/revoked, and with failure to maintain a reasonable distance.
