From Six Summit Gallery:
We are honored to announce for the first time ever, Brent Stapelkamp, world renowned conservationist and fine art photographer of Cecil the Lion, will jury a fine art show with selected entries, alongside over 25 of his photos, as seen in National Geographic, CNN, BBC and more. Brent will give a lecture in Ivoryton CT, at the Ivoryton Congregational Church, followed by a wine and cheese reception and art show with Brent's original photographs, and selected others, at Six Summit Gallery.Six Summit Gallery of Ivoryton, CT (home to 90% of all manufacturing of ivory at the turn of the century) continues its anti-poaching, pro-wildlife campaign through fine art. Brent was the last person to photo and collar the beloved lion in Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park.
Brent Stapelkamp is a 38 year old Zimbabwean who has devoted his life and passion to the conservation of lions and the communities that live along side them. Brent worked on the WildCRU's Hwange Lion Research project for close to a decade where his primary roles were the mitigating of conflict between lions and livestock as well as tracking, collaring and studying Hwange's lions. Brent was the last person to touch Cecil the lion alive when he caught him for a collar change and is said to have been the last person to take photographs of Cecil before his death. Several of those "last photos" are within this collection. Brent now live off-grid with his young family and they now concentrate on projects that both uplift people and conserve wildlife on Hwange's boundaries.
