Downed Wires, Trees Close Roads In Lyme

Officials are advising motorists to use alternate routes.

LYME, CT — Officials are advising motorists of road closures that are in effect due to wires and trees down.

The following roads in Lyme were closed, as of 12 noon, due to wires/trees down incidents, according to the Lyme Fire Department:

  • Beaver Brook Road near #100
  • Town Woods Road between Bill Hill and Burr

The following roads are REDUCED to one lane of traffic due to wires/trees down incidents:

“Please seek alternate routes and use caution in these areas,” officials wrote in a post on the Lyme Fire Department’s Facebook page. “As always, do not drive over downed wires and treat all wires as if they're live.”
