East Lyme HS Student Named Regional Finalist In Scholars Program
Aditya Kabra of Niantic is among six Connecticut students vying for a $20,000 scholarship through the Coca-Cola Scholars Program.
EAST LYME, CT — An East Lyme High School student has been named a regional finalist in the Coca-Cola Scholars Program, and he's one of only six Connecticut students — and 251 students nationwide — to earn the honor.
Aditya Kabra of Niantic was among 68,000 high school seniors to apply to the program. In November he was named a semifinalist, and on Feb. 2 he became a regional finalist.
"Reaching this level distinguishes these students as extraordinary leaders in their school and community," the Coca-Cola Scholars Program said in its announcement of the Regional Finalists. "To be selected as a Regional Finalist is an outstanding accomplishment."

If he's named a Coca-Cola Scholar, Kabra will receive a $20,000 college scholarship.
To determine the 150 scholars, the program's Regional Interview Committee — comprised of a Coca-Cola Foundation Staff Member and previous scholarship recipients — will interview the finalists.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is described on its website as an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. This year, the program will name its 34th class.
"Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities," the program's website reads.
