The East Lyme Public Trust Foundation honors outstanding non-profits of East Lyme

At their 2025 June Annual Meeting, the East Lyme Public Trust Foundation honored seven non-profits which do invaluable work in our community.

Wanting to increase the power of their profits, from funds the Trust realized from the sale of Buoys at Christmas time, the Foundation therefore decided to honor other community non-profits with a donation of $500 each to ensure their crucial work would continue.

Diane Swan and Linda Raffa accepted the donation on behalf of From Stars to Stem. Ann Dagle accepted the donation to The Brian Dagle Foundation. Rena and Gerry Powers accepted the donation for The Blue Door. Lisa Picarazzi accepted for The Giving Garden. This donation was given via a sponsorship of two rows of veggies-peppers and melons!

Dave Putman and Ginna Morris accepted for The Miracle League of Southeastern Connecticut. Sally Cini accepted for The Niantic Bay Playhouse and Hugh and Wendy McKenny represented Care & Share.

Each of the recipients spoke briefly about the goals and future plans of their group. Kathie Lewis Cassidy, ELPTF President discussed the Foundation’s desire to encourage other non-profits to continue to do their vital work to support the community needs. This was a unique meeting of community leaders assembled in one place to continue to plan their next goals to serve the East Lyme Community.

All those who participated in the Buoys by the Bay project, which the Foundation sponsored, can be proud that they facilitated this invaluable support of the non-profits of East Lyme.
