Flood Zones, Traffic Cones, and Duke Ellington Gets Out of the Rain
Five things to help you plan your day, Thursday, August 8, in East Lyme, Old Lyme, and Lyme

1. Showers and a possible thunderstorm this morning will be followed by a cloudy afternoon. There's a 60 percent chance of rain today and a 20 percent chance of rain this evening. Weather.com is predicting a high temperature of 77 degrees and an overnight low of 72 degrees.
2. Traffic delays along Route 156 and the Rocky Neck Connector last night were due to an overturned ice cream truck. The accident was reported at about 9:15 p.m. There were no injuries but there were traffic cones.
3. Just a reminder that this evening's concert featuring the Duke Ellington Band originally scheduled for Harkness Park in Waterford has been relocated to the Garde Arts Center 325 State Street in New London.
4. Find out how recent changes to the coastal flood map affect you. The Federal Emergency Management (FEMA) and the CT Dept. of Energy & Environmental Protection (CTDEEP) will be hosting a public outreach meeting to discuss flood insurance and coastal map changes at CT DEEP Marine Headquarters, 333 Ferry Road, Old Lyme, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
5. Last night's East Lyme Board of Selectmen's meeting was canceled due to lack of a quorum but there are plenty of meetings tonight if you're feeling civic minded.
