
James Flaherty of Old Lyme was one of nearly 1,300 students to graduate from Western Connecticut State University this spring. The commencement ceremony took place on the Westside campus with 5,000 parents and other guests in attendance. WCSU President James W. Schmotter wished wished the graduates well and shook the hand of every student who walked across the stage.
