Lyme-Old Lyme School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Lyme-Old Lyme is August 30. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Lyme-Old Lyme has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/4: Labor Day (Schools Closed)

October

• 10/6: Professional Development Day (HALF) (IA’s and Tutors included) Early dismissal for students
• 10/9: Columbus Day (Schools Closed)

November

• 11/7: Professional Development Day (FULL) (IAs and Tutors included) No school for students
• 11/20-21: Elementary parent conferences, Elementary students early dismissal
• 11/22-24: Thanksgiving Holiday (Schools Closed)

December

• 12/22: Professional Development Day (HALF) Early dismissal for students
• 12/15-1/1: Holiday Recess (Schools Closed)

January

• 1/11-12: Middle School parent conferences, Middle School students early dismissal
• 1/15: Martin Luther King (Schools Closed)

February

• 2/16: Professional Development Day (HALF), Early dismissal for students
• 2/19-20: Winter Break (Schools Closed)

March

• 3/9: Professional Development Day (FULL), No school for students
• 3/30: Good Friday (Schools Closed)

April

• 4/16-20: Spring Break (Schools Closed)

May

• 5/28: Memorial Day (Schools Closed)

June

• 6/12-13: Tentative Final Days, Early dismissal for students both days, Snow days are added at end of year
