LYME, CT — Lyme-Old Lyme school officials are considering a proposal that would arm school security officers, according to The New London Day. The move is meant to increase safety for students and staff.
The school is still seeking feedback from parents on the proposal. If approved, the proposal would take effect next year.
The district's school security officers, all retired law enforcement personnel, would be the only ones armed.
