  • Old Lyme Board of Selectmen meets at Old Lyme Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.
  • Lyme Board of Selectmen meets at 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday, August 6

  • East Lyme's Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. at East Lyme Town Hall to consider an application for a waiver for design reports and open space requirements for a two lot subdivision at 15 Chesterfield Road. 
  • There will be an Old Lyme Police Department meeting today at Old Lyme Town Hall at 11 a.m.
  • Old Lyme's Democratic Town Committee meets tonight at Old Lyme Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. in the Second Floor Conference Room. 
  • An information session about new federal disaster relief funding from the National Park Service to help fix Sandy-damaged historic and archaeological properties will be held at 7 p.m. at Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library, 2 Library Lane, in Old Lyme.

  • East Lyme Board of Selectmen meets at 7:30 p.m. This meeting will include discussions about bamboo and the Yale Outdoor Education Center Trail. 
  • Lyme-Old Lyme Board of Education meets at the Lyme-Old Lyme High School Media Center at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, August 8

  • Find out how recent changes to the coastal flood map affect you. The Federal Emergency Management (FEMA) and the CT Dept. of Energy & Environmental Protection (CTDEEP) will be hosting a public outreach meeting to discuss flood insurance and coastal map changes at CT DEEP Marine Headquarters, 333 Ferry Road, Old Lyme, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 
  • East Lyme Zoning Commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. at East Lyme Town Hall. There will be a public hearing on a proposal to amend zoning requirements for agriculture or farm use, including the raising of poultry. 
  • Old Lyme's Economic Development Commission meets at 8 a.m. at Old Lyme Town Hall. 
  • Old Lyme Historical Society meets at Old Lyme Town Hall at 4 p.m. 
  • Old Lyme Inland, Wetlands, and Watercourses Commission meets at 43 rogers Lake Trail at 5:45 p.m.

  • Old Lyme Open Space Commission meets at 9:30 a.m. at Old Lyme Town Hall

Thursday, August 8
  • This week's summer concert at Harkness Park in Waterford features The Duke Ellington Orchestra with String of Pearls as the opening act. The youth performance will be The Real Ambassadors and CREC's Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts.

Friday, August 9

  • East Lyme Regional Theater presents its 4th annual summer musical, Once on This Island, August 9-11 at East Lyme High School Auditorium. Find out more at www.eastlymeregionaltheater.com. Tickets are $15, $10 for students, and are available at East Lyme Parks & Recreation 860-730-5828.
  • Cafe Sol in Niantic will host a special movie viewing at 7 p.m. of North of Liberty, an independent movie made by local filmmaker Todd Whitaker. Tickets $5.
