Opening Night-Buoys by the Bay

The time has almost arrived! Opening Night for the Buoy Display will be tomorrow night, Friday, Nov. 22, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at the Park on Main Street across from the Liberty Green, next to the train tracks. This event is sponsored by the East Lyme Public Trust Foundation and Niantic Main Street.

Officials of the two groups will be on hand to welcome the public and to thank the many people who have made the project a success. As a special treat, the Sweet Adelines will then entertain the participants with a selection of Seasonal Songs. In addition, for the children, Snoopy will be present to delight and to provide an opportunity for photos.

The Buoys will be on display from Nov. 22 to early January, 2025. Visit our “little” tree farm covered with hundreds of unique buoys, decorated by community members from throughout the region, local organizations, and businesses. Each buoy has a story which is interesting and unique.

Come on down, join in the fun, and witness in action the Buoys’ 3 C’s-Community, Camaraderie, and Creativity .
