Police: The Lyme Tavern Burglar Strikes Again - But This Time In Coventry
Police believe the same man who burglarized The Lyme Tavern last week tried to burglarize Coventry's Bidwell Tavern on Friday.

A man police believe burglarized Niantic's The Lyme Tavern on Oct. 22 tried to burglarize another bar on Friday, this time Coventry's Bidwell Tavern.
On Tuesday, Oct. 22, at around 2 a.m., a man burglarized The Lyme Tavern, according to state police. Then, on Friday, Oct. 25 at 2 a.m., a man tried to burglarize Coventry's Bidwell Tavern, according to police.
Video surveillance caught photos of both incidents and police believe it is the same man. The burglar used similar techniques in both burglaries as well, strengthening that belief, according to police.
The man also allegedly burglarized at least one other bar in Groton, according to police. They are asking anyone with information to call Please direct the the East Lyme Resident Troopers’ Office at (860) 739-5900 or Troop E in Montville at (860) 848-6500. All calls will be kept confidential.
