Reckless Driver Chased Car, Then Tried To Get In, East Lyme Police Say
The man chased down a car that crashed, then tried to open the car's door, police said.
EAST LYME, CT — A driver was charged after he chased down another man and tried to enter his car in East Lyme, police said.
Police responded at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to the area of Black Point Road for a report of "a victim who was in his car and being chased down by another man."
The victim hit a fence and drove off-road at times trying to flee from the suspect.

While trying to avoid hitting pedestrians, the victim’s vehicle crashed into rocks on Beach Avenue and became disabled, police said.
The victim was unable to free the car from the rocks. The other driver, Michael Bonelli, 37, of East Lyme, "approached the victim’s car and began trying to open the door," according to police.

Bonelli was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, following with intent to harass, breach of peace, and possession of a controlled substance.
He was held on $100,000 bond.
Police said the incident was not connected with a serious assault reported on Sunday.
