Six College Students Named Nancy Larson Foundation Scholars
Education-based foundation awards scholarships to hardworking students studying elementary education.

Old Lyme - Six college students across the country have been named Nancy Larson Foundation scholars and each awarded a $1000 scholarship in recognition of their outstanding academic records and community service.
The Nancy Larson Foundation proudly supports students majoring in elementary education by awarding scholarships to deserving students each year.

The recipients selected from the hundreds of applicants received by the foundation are:
- Clarissa Corkins, Kansas State University
- Carlos Chavez, Texas A&M University-Commerce
- Chantell Oliver, Texas A&M University-Commerce
- Chelsey Evans, Texas A&M University
- Eric Boynton, University of Rhode Island
- Kimberly Swafford, Missouri State University
Juniors, seniors and graduate students who have declared an elementary education major are invited to submit a personal narrative about qualities that will make them an excellent teacher. Applicants are also asked to include community service activities and personal experiences they have had working with children.
