OLD LYME, CT — Great teachers matter. In Old Lyme, we're fortunate to have teachers like Rebecca Tate.

Fourth grade.

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

She goes above and beyond for the children during the school year. Mrs Tare also started a gardening program during the summer for the children to learn how to garden and grow food to give back to others who are less fortunate. She didn’t get paid anything in addition for this task. She did it.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

Her dedication to enriching our children’s lives through gardening even during the summer months speaks volumes about her work ethic and empowering children with their decisions.
