Car Takes Out Road Signs On Snowy Ramp In Tolland

It was not a good start to the new year for a car and signs in Tolland.

TOLLAND, CT — It was not a good start to the new year for two road signs in Tolland.

And a driver from Long Island as well.

According to a state police crash report, at 9:02 a.m., on New Year's Day, as snow was still falling, a 2021 Buick was heading off Interstate 84 on the Exit 69 eastbound off-ramp.

The driver, a 22-year-old woman from Comack, NY, lost control of the car and skidded off the pavement, running over two state Department of Transportation road signs in the process.

The driver was unhurt, but was cited for traveling too fast for conditions.
