TOLLAND, CT — Conceptual plans are moving along for a sidewalk extension on Route 195 in Tolland.

In his latest report to the Town Council, Tolland Town Manager Brian Foley said that, last month, senior design students at the University of Connecticut continued working on their design for the sidewalks on Route 195 from Cider Mill Road to Interstate-84 and, at the end of the semester, the students are expected to have a concept plan, with two alternatives, and a cost proposal.

The town's projects and grants manager is participating in bi-weekly project meetings with the students and is also working with Cardinal Engineering to prepare a plan to submit for state Local Capital Improvement Program funding in the fall, Foley said.

Once town officials have a plan in place, the proposed design will be presented to the Town Council, Foley said.

Town officials have reached out to the property owners within the proposed project area, to provide an opportunity to address any of their questions or concerns, Foley said.
