Low Turnout for Budget Referendum Tuesday Morning

The voter turnout for has been light Tuesday morning, according to the Registrar's Office.

As of 11 a.m., around 200 residents had placed , with another 250 at .

Last year, turnout rates averaged out at around 30 percent between the three referendums.

Democratic Registrar of Voters Michael Wyman said that the drizzly weather may be a contributing factor to Tuesday's low numbers.

"Not as many people come out in the rain," he said.

There are 9,260 registered voters in town. 

Polls will remain open until 8 p.m.
