Meet Tolland's New Engineering Technician
Jose Palacio began working part-time for the town in May.

Tolland's new engineering technician, Jose Palacio, hasn't worked in any other towns in the engineering field, but he already knows that he and Tolland are a good fit.
"I like the working culture," Palacio said of his fellow town hall employees, with whom he has been working since early May. "They definitely go above and beyond what they're supposed to do. It's a very dynamic place."
Palacio, a UConn graduate with a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, is working as a part-time engineering technician. His responsibilites include checking pumps, handling customer service related problems, ensuring that the town is complying with regulations and statutes, as well as acting as the staff liaison for the Tolland Water Commission and Water Pollution Control Authority.

Palacio is also pursuing his professional engineering license and his JD.

Palacio works with the interim town engineer to complete any of the town's engineering needs. left Tolland in the fall of 2011. The full-time position of town engineer has not yet been filled.
