TOLLAND, CT —After placing third in the Connecticut high school soccer coaches preseason poll, Tolland was looking to improve its position. In the first week of the regular season, the Eagles did just that, taking over the top spot in Classes M/S.

Tolland collected four first-place votes to unseat preseason favorite Lewis Mills, which dropped to second. Other teams from Hartford and Tolland counties receiving support were RHAM, Suffield, Rocky Hill, Canton and Granby.

Preseason pick Hall of West Hartford continues to lead the pace in Classes LL/L. Glastonbury and Farmington also made the top 5.
