Tolland Runner Captures Class M Cross Country Individual Championship

MANCHESTER, CT — Colby Bornstein of Tolland High School was the individual champion at the CIAC Class M divisional cross country race Saturday at Wickham Park. His efforts paced the Eagles to the runner-up spot in team competition.

Bornstein completed the grueling 3.1 mile "Green Monster" course in 16:44, besting runner-up Jackson Sobelman of Joel Barlow by 13 seconds. Two other Eagles posted top 25 finishes: Dillon Stoeffler (15th) and Ryan Chater (25th).

Tolland compiled 110 points, trailing only champion Ledyard's 58.

Led by a 15th-place finish by freshman Rebecca Langlais, the Eagle girls wound up fifth in Class L.
