Tolland Town Council Wrap Up
The council decided against changing town hall's present hours and also discussed the application process of the Tolland Farmers' Market.

The town council decided to preserve town hall's current operating hours at Tuesday night's meeting.Â
At present, town hall is open Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
According to the agenda, town hall has been using a four-day schedule since 2008, resulting in about $17,589 in savings.

The council also decided on or discussed several other resolutions:
- The setting of a public hearing to raise certain fees, such as overdue fees at the library, which were outlined in the . For a full list of the changes, take a look at the meeting agenda.
- The council discussed the current application process at the Tolland Farmers' Market. Former market master Bill O'Hara explained that only a limited number of farmers are allowed to participate in the market due to economic limitations. Those who are already participating are automatically reaccepted each year, he explained. The council asked for more information concerning the market after a Tolland farmer commented that there was not room for his farm to sell in the town's market.
- The approval of a resolution allowing the Town Manager to discuss a contract with Tecton Architects to review a possible renovation of the town hall gymnasium into an expansion . There is $30,000 designated in the Capital Budget for the review. Tecton has also worked with the town on , according to the agenda.
The Tolland Lions Club also announced the Citizen of the Year award, which recognized "Those who Helped in the October 2011 Storm Emergency." Town Council Chair Jack Scavone accepted the plaque on behalf of those citizens.
