The Tolland Recreation is accepting applications for part time positions for officiating within the Youth Recreation Basketball Programs. Individuals will be responsible for officiating league games at assigned youth programs. Knowledge of the game of basketball, the rules of basketball, and youth sports is a must.

➢ Have a sincere interest and enthusiasm for team sports and developing these skills in children.

➢ Knowledge of appropriate sports rules.

➢ Experience working with children 7 – 13 years old.

➢ Reviewing officiating educational material.

➢ Practicing officiating mechanics/signals/positioning/whistling.

➢ Establish and maintain relationships with volunteers, parents and youth participants.

➢ Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

➢ Excellent verbal communication skills.

➢ Running, stretching, jumping and other team sports related movements required.

➢ Knowledge of appropriate sports rules.

➢ Other training may be required after employment begins.

➢ Completion of background check prior to hire.
