VERNON, CT — One neighbor busted his way into another's apartment in Vernon, and, when the brawl was over, one was criminally charged, police said.

Just before 12:30 p.m. Friday, Vernon police responded to the Franklin Park East apartment complex for a neighbor dispute. Police were told that someone had broken into an apartment at the complex and was being restrained by its occupants, according to an arrest report.

The incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two residents of the complex, according to an incident report. John Hickey, 57, is accused of forcing his way inside a neighbor's dwelling and "attacking" the resident, according to an arrest report. A television was "destroyed" during the fight, according to an arrest report.

One of the apartment's occupants called 911 and another suffered "various head injuries," but minor in nature, according to an incident report.

Hickey was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree breach of peace, third-degree assault ands third-degree criminal mischief.
