Crews extinguished a car fire that spread to a house Wednesday afternoon in Wallingford, according to fire officials.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Crews extinguished a car fire that spread to a house Wednesday afternoon in Wallingford, according to fire officials.
Crews responded around 3 p.m. to Shetland Drive on the report of a vehicle fire that had spread to the house, according to a post on the Wallingford Fire Department’s Facebook page.
“First arriving companies quickly stretched a hose line and extinguished the visible fire on the exterior of the house,” officials wrote in the post. “Next arriving units assisted with overhaul to ensure no further spread, and the remaining units returned to service.”

Officials said no injuries were reported, and the Wallingford Fire Prevention Division went to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
“This fire likely extended to the house due to the very dry conditions,” officials wrote. “As a reminder all residents are to remain compliant with the Open Burning Ban issued last week.
