Wallingford Man Enters Plea in Federal Drug Case

A local resident is facing a drug trafficking charge.

Wallingford, CT - A 26-year-old Wallingford man pleaded guilty to a federal drug trafficking charge.

According to The New Haven Register, Antonio Delucia plead guilty in court on Tuesday.

Last June, Delucia was indicted and charged with one count of using a telephone to facilitate a narcotics trafficking felony offense, according to a press release from Deirdre M. Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Patricia M. Ferrick, Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Delucia, who is in recovery, can face up to four years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

According to the FBI and state's attorney's office, he was part of a scheme to buy and redistribute heroin and crack cocaine in New Haven. Those indicted last June include:

The FBI’s New Haven Safe Streets Task Force, consisting of FBI agents and officers from the New Haven Police Department, West Haven Police Department and the Connecticut Department of Correction, led the investigation.
