New Building Official, Zoning Enforcement Officer Appointed In Wallingford
Mayor Vincent Cervoni announced the appointment on Thursday.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Luigi Coppola has been appointed as the Building Official and Zoning Enforcement Officer for the Town of Wallingford, Mayor Vincent Cervoni announced Thursday.
Coppola has served as the town’s Assistant Building Official since September 2017.
“Over the past eight years, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and a deep commitment to public service,” according to a news release from the Mayor’s Office. “In his role as second in command, Mr. Coppola has supervised and coordinated the daily operations of the Building Department staff, ensuring efficient and effective service to the community.

“His extensive experience includes oversight of permitting processes, in-depth knowledge and application of the State of Connecticut Building Code, conducting field inspections, and enforcing both Housing Code and Blight Ordinances. Mr. Coppola’s qualifications and proven track record make him an outstanding choice to lead the department into the future.”
Cervoni said Coppola has been a valued member of Building Department for eight years.

“When he joined the Town of Wallingford, he brought a variety of experience in the fields of building and accounting that will contribute to his success as our Building Official,” Cervoni said. “We look forward to working with him in his new capacity.”
